OpenHour converts the schedules people choose to share into busy and free windows, aligns those windows over the same date range, and surfaces the overlap. The original calendar remains the source of truth, and privacy settings determine whether friends see event labels or only availability.

How it works

Privacy remains part of the calculation

OpenHour needs the time boundaries of a busy event to calculate availability. Friends do not need the private title. The schedule preview makes that distinction visible before you rely on it.

Missing information stays visible

A participant with no personal schedule is marked as missing schedule information. That protects the group from interpreting “no data” as “free all day.”

Can availability change after a plan is made?

Calendar data can change. A confirmed plan has its own time and RSVP state, while future comparisons use the latest available schedule data.
